The project summary







In June, as we had planned, we finished our project. It's also time of many thanks, wishes and greetings. Czech and slovak students exchanged letters and souvenirs. Slovenian group came up with an idea of packing an interesting book into a holiday backpack. Surely there will be time for reading during holiday trips. 

In June, with great joy, we took part in polish and slovakian eTwinning contests summary. Our project was named one of the bests in our countries. It took 1st place in Poland, in category of primary schools and in Slovakia 3rd place in the country. The group of polish students spent wonderful three days in the capital - Warsaw and participated in the awarding ceremony, presenting the project to everybody who attended the conference. Similar ceremony took place in Slovakia

Thank you everybody for great cooperation, huge commitment, creativity and enthusiasm. The project's success is our mutual achievement. We are an exceptionally harmonious team. I hope we will work together in the future again. Ahead of us there are many mutual enterprises as succesful as this one.



During May we ended writing our book - blog called "Night in the library". Next chapters appeared: Frightened Kate and Julie, Kate began to read ..., Pigs Budkáčik and Dubkáčik, Helping the ants and The Ending. We developed the e-book in programmes: Glossi, Issuu and PowerPoint. They can be read and downloaded. 

In our schools we organized contests for the most interesting bookmark. We celebrated The Day of Libraries and Librarians. As a part of book of the month we were promoting Adventure books

We already know Why is it worth to read. We write and present out thoughts and values, which we gained during working with the project. Slowly we are summing up our project. We created beautiful posters for our project.

Children from Czech Republic and Slovakia took part in The competition by Skype and they wrote letters. We had a videocall with our friends from Czech Republic. We competed between our classes, trying to find out who is better in memorizing words from our spoken dictionary




During April, schools presented their favourite national books: Czech, Slovakian and Slovenian. Together we wrote six chapters of our magical book "Night in the library". Polish students presented favourite books as interactive images and showed their blogs and memories from night meeting in the library.

Slovakian, Czech and Polish students ended writing individual, picture, thematical dictionaries and systematically learn new words in partners languages. They also created another games establishing international words connected with books. They can already be proud of knowing a lot of new words. Slovakian students took part in class contest of words knowledge.

We show favourite books of three generations: students, parents and grandparents. We compare our reading passions and interests. We already set up another mutual contest: for the most interesting bookmark.

As part of the cycle BOOK OF THE MONTH we reminded ourselves popular books with boys as main characters. We saw an interesting movie showing a night in the book shop. In our schools there were spring ceremonies, together we celebrated The International Day of Books.



In March we made a multi-language, illustrated, common spoken dictionary of words connected with books In libraries night meetings with books took place. Students participated in an unusual lesson of reading with real sheep, in World Poetry day and in The Day of Fairy Tales. Each group started to show a chosen national book for children. We also prepared a place to write our mutual, interactive book - our most important task. In the section "Books of the month" we added books with girls as main characters. We sent Easter wishes to each other.



In February we took part in the workshops "How is a book made?", we presented our favourite literature characters. We participated in the contest called My Majesty book. We started creating Book trailers, gathering book aphorisms, we presented places where we like to read. We also turned ourselves into book authors and wrote our first novels. The section "Books of the month" enriched with fantasy books. In schools carnival dances took place. Together we celebrated The Safer Internet Day.



In January we produces movies and comic books showing the magic of books, We learned about books a lot, so we started to make different tasks for each other. We showed school celebrations: Nativity play and Grandparents Day. In the section "Books of the month" winter books appeared.



In December we celebrated Christmas together. We discovered christmas habits and sent wishes to each other. We started editing the section "Books of the month", where, of course, in December were Christmas books.



In November a contest for the project's mascot took place. We started to show our favourite books and reccomend to our friends books, which are worth to read. We also organised The Fabulous Fashion Show and The International Day of Teddy Bear, we met with the author, we took part in a contest called My Friend Bear and in the book fair. We discovered the most beautiful european libraries.



October is the beginning of our project's implementation. Together we set up the blog, the project's diary, created the schedule, and started gathering materials on TwinSpace platform. All of the participants introduced themselves, presented their schools and cities. In October we also celebrated an International School Library Month.
